Le bassin du Congo contient le deuxi\u00e8me plus grand r\u00e9seau fluvial du monde en termes de d\u00e9bit et joue un r\u00f4le central dans le maintien des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes r\u00e9gionaux, le soutien de la productivit\u00e9 agricole, la p\u00eache durable, la r\u00e9gulation des inondations et des s\u00e9cheresses, et pourtant le syst\u00e8me hydrologique reste peu suivi. L&rsquo;Observatoire vise \u00e0 combler cette lacune de donn\u00e9es en g\u00e9n\u00e9rant des donn\u00e9es hydrologiques \u00e0 haute r\u00e9solution, spatialement distribu\u00e9es, et en d\u00e9veloppant des mod\u00e8les robustes de flux, de stockage et de variabilit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;eau \u00e0 travers le bassin du Congo.  <\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Leaders scientifiques et institutions<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">L&rsquo;Observatoire est dirig\u00e9 par le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crrebac.org\/en_GB\/professeur-raphael-tshimanga\">Pr Raphael Tshimanga<\/a> (Universit\u00e9 de Kinshasa, RDC) et la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/nka-nnomo-bernadette-398b1459\">Dr Bernadette Nka Nnomo<\/a> (Centre de Recherche Hydrologique, Cameroun), soutenus par le <a href=\"https:\/\/eps.leeds.ac.uk\/civil-engineering\/staff\/787\/professor-mark-trigg?_gl=1*1xc5dlk*_gcl_au*NTEzOTgxNzE4LjE3NDUyNDA4NzY.*_ga*MTI5NjI3MjM0NS4xNzM3NDIwNTE5*_ga_SEKE21EBEQ*czE3NDk0NjM3OTckbzE3MyRnMSR0MTc0OTQ2NzYzMiRqMTAkbDAkaDY0Mjk1MDE4\">Pr Mark Trigg<\/a> (Universit\u00e9 de Leeds, Royaume-Uni). <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">L&rsquo;Observatoire encadre un(e) doctorant(e), un(e) \u00e9tudiant(e) en master, un r\u00f4le postdoctoral et un technicien au CRREBaC \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Kinshasa ; ainsi qu&rsquo;un(e) doctorant (e), un(e) \u00e9tudiant (e) en master et un(e) technicien(e) \u00e0 l&rsquo;Institut d&rsquo;Hydrologie au Cameroun ; et un doctorant(e) bas\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Leeds au Royaume-Uni. Pour en savoir plus sur chacun des projets de recherche des boursiers dans l&rsquo;Observatoire de l&rsquo;Hydrologie et des Eaux Douces, cliquez <a href=\"https:\/\/congobasinscience.net\/fr\/bourses\/liste-de-projets\/?_observatory=hydrology-and-freshwater\">ici<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Objectifs de recherche<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Cet Observatoire s&rsquo;appuie sur le Syst\u00e8me d&rsquo;Information sur les Bassins Versants du bassin du Congo, en se concentrant sur le maintien et l&rsquo;expansion de la collecte des niveaux d&rsquo;eau, des d\u00e9bits, de l&rsquo;\u00e9tendue des eaux de surface, des profondeurs de la nappe phr\u00e9atique, de l&rsquo;humidit\u00e9 du sol et des volumes de stockage d&rsquo;eau. Ces mesures de terrain localis\u00e9es et de haute pr\u00e9cision, y compris l&rsquo;installation de nouvelles stations de surveillance, seront utilis\u00e9es, pour la premi\u00e8re fois, pour valider et calibrer les donn\u00e9es t\u00e9l\u00e9d\u00e9tections par satellite, afin de r\u00e9gionaliser les mesures des rivi\u00e8res s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9es. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">L&rsquo;Observatoire s&rsquo;articule autour de trois programmes principaux, \u00e0 savoir :<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"font-size:18px\"><em>Installation de nouvelles stations de mesure dans trois r\u00e9gions du bassin du Congo o\u00f9 nous n&rsquo;avons pas encore travaill\u00e9 : la rivi\u00e8re Kasai en RDC, la rivi\u00e8re Sangha et ses affluents au Cameroun, et la r\u00e9gion de la Cuvette Centrale (zone de la tourbi\u00e8re) en RDC.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:18px\"><em>\u00c9valuation des impacts des initiatives de gestion et d&rsquo;ing\u00e9nierie des bassins fluviaux en cours et futures, telles que la construction de barrages hydro\u00e9lectriques et les projets de transfert d&rsquo;eau, en particulier sur les grandes populations urbaines.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:18px\"><em>\u00c9valuation de la mani\u00e8re dont les changements des \u00e9l\u00e9vations de la surface d&rsquo;eau et la connectivit\u00e9 des rivi\u00e8res avec zones humides influencent les tourbi\u00e8res du centre du Congo, afin de comprendre comment ces changements peuvent affecter la p\u00eache dans les tourbi\u00e8res, une activit\u00e9 de subsistance majeure, et comment ces changements de flux peuvent affecter le stockage de carbone dans le sol tourbeux satur\u00e9 d&rsquo;eau.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Liens avec les autres observatoires<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">L&rsquo;Observatoire de l&rsquo;Hydrologie et des Eaux Douces travaillera en \u00e9troite collaboration avec <a href=\"https:\/\/congobasinscience.net\/fr\/projets\/craft\/craft-observatoire-du-climat-et-de-la-meteorologie\/\">l&rsquo;Observatoire du Climat<\/a> pour saisir l&rsquo;importance des pr\u00e9cipitations dans la dynamique fluviale et la mod\u00e9lisation hydrologique; avec <a href=\"https:\/\/congobasinscience.net\/projects\/craft\/vegetation\/\">l&rsquo;Observatoire de la V\u00e9g\u00e9tation<\/a> pour \u00e9valuer les signes de stress dans la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation des tourbi\u00e8res; et avec <a href=\"https:\/\/congobasinscience.net\/projects\/craft\/socio-ecology\/\">l&rsquo;Observatoire de la Socio-\u00e9cologie<\/a>, qui travaillera avec les communaut\u00e9s locales pour surveiller leurs
