Les donn\u00e9es publi\u00e9es \u00e0 ce sujet couvrent la p\u00e9riode 1983-2015 et montrent, sur cette p\u00e9riode, un puits stable (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41586-020-2035-0\">Hubau et al. 2020<\/a>). Cependant, les mod\u00e8les pr\u00e9visionnels de l\u2019absorption future du carbone par ces for\u00eats pr\u00e9sentent des r\u00e9sultats tr\u00e8s vari\u00e9s, allant d\u2019un puits en augmentation \u00e0 un puits stable, voire en d\u00e9clin. Dans cette optique, l\u2019objectif scientifique de CongoFor1.5 est de comprendre l\u2019\u00e9volution du bilan carbone et de l\u2019\u00e9cologie du bassin du Congo et de ses for\u00eats contigu\u00ebs au fil du temps, en recensant \u00e0 nouveau les parcelles foresti\u00e8res existantes faisant l\u2019objet d\u2019un inventaire \u00e0 long terme afin d\u2019obtenir plus d\u2019une d\u00e9cennie de donn\u00e9es, jusqu\u2019en 2026. Nous pr\u00e9voyons de recenser \u00e0 nouveau 225 parcelles d\u2019inventaire \u00e0 long terme au Cameroun, en R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo, au Gabon et en R\u00e9publique du Congo, tout en rassemblant d\u2019autres donn\u00e9es provenant de l\u2019ensemble de la r\u00e9gion du bassin du Congo.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019objectif de renforcement des capacit\u00e9s de CongoFor1.5 est de former des \u00e9quipes de terrain et des responsables dans chacun des quatre pays focaux afin qu\u2019ils puissent mesurer ces parcelles de recherche selon des normes scientifiques et que ces groupes disposent de toutes les comp\u00e9tences n\u00e9cessaires pour poursuivre la surveillance \u00e0 long terme de ces parcelles importantes \u00e0 l\u2019avenir, une fois le projet termin\u00e9. Cela permettra aux scientifiques de chaque pays du bassin du Congo de diriger les recherches, plut\u00f4t que de les confier \u00e0 des scientifiques ext\u00e9rieurs \u00e0 la r\u00e9gion. En renfor\u00e7ant les capacit\u00e9s et le leadership national au Cameroun, en R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo, au Gabon et en R\u00e9publique du Congo, nous esp\u00e9rons que cela conduira \u00e0 la promotion d\u2019une surveillance foresti\u00e8re de haute qualit\u00e9 et \u00e0 l\u2019autosuffisance des r\u00e9seaux de surveillance scientifique et des bases de donn\u00e9es n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 une meilleure gestion des for\u00eats \u00e0 haute valeur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CongoFor1.5 fournira des donn\u00e9es trait\u00e9es sur les changements dans le puits forestier structurellement intact, y compris des donn\u00e9es ouvertes sur les estimations annuelles du puits. Nous esp\u00e9rons ainsi que ces avantages n\u00e9glig\u00e9s des for\u00eats intactes pourront \u00eatre mis \u00e0 profit pour financer des services \u00e9cosyst\u00e9miques, ce qui pourrait renforcer la protection des for\u00eats. Nous esp\u00e9rons \u00e9galement que les donn\u00e9es que nous fournissons permettront aux pays d\u2019Afrique centrale de jouer leur r\u00f4le dans l\u2019accord de Paris visant \u00e0 limiter le r\u00e9chauffement climatique \u00e0 1,5 \u00b0C gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une meilleure gestion de leurs for\u00eats \u00e0 haut stock de carbone.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CongoFor1.5 est un projet port\u00e9 par le R\u00e9seau d\u2019observation des for\u00eats tropicales africaines (<a href=\"https:\/\/eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fafritron.org%2F&amp;data=05%7C02%7CH.M.E.Plante%40leeds.ac.uk%7Cfb4c4b6096fa498097b608ddbaef5b49%7Cbdeaeda8c81d45ce863e5232a535b7cb%7C0%7C0%7C638872259370464990%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=ISGp1m2L4iuvEA2sFBQm3kdmb3KLB0yaOETPiWKS%2F4o%3D&amp;reserved=0\">AfriTRON<\/a>), un r\u00e9seau international de scientifiques engag\u00e9s dans la surveillance \u00e0 long terme des for\u00eats tropicales sur le terrain, et financ\u00e9 par l\u2019Initiative pour les for\u00eats d\u2019Afrique centrale (<a href=\"https:\/\/eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cafi.org%2Fwelcome&amp;data=05%7C02%7CH.M.E.Plante%40leeds.ac.uk%7Cfb4c4b6096fa498097b608ddbaef5b49%7Cbdeaeda8c81d45ce863e5232a535b7cb%7C0%7C0%7C638872259370511680%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=OA9HBYSIq6itcCRe0OFm5l2Z39i%2FWWA0dI%2FUHMZ%2F7cU%3D&amp;reserved=0\">CAFI<\/a>) pour une dur\u00e9e initiale de trois ans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">R\u00e9sultats attendus<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fournir des donn\u00e9es issues d\u2019un nouvel inventaire de 225 parcelles foresti\u00e8res \u00e0 long terme et fournir des informations sur le puits de carbone dans les for\u00eats structurellement intactes d\u2019Afrique centrale au cours de la p\u00e9riode 1983-2026, en pr\u00e9cisant si ce puits est stable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>En renfor\u00e7ant les capacit\u00e9s et le leadership national au Cameroun, en R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo, au Gabon et en R\u00e9publique du Congo, nous esp\u00e9rons que cela conduira \u00e0 la promotion d\u2019une surveillance foresti\u00e8re de haute qualit\u00e9 et \u00e0 l\u2019autosuffisance des r\u00e9seaux de surveillance scientifique et des bases de donn\u00e9es n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 une meilleure gestion des for\u00eats \u00e0 haute valeur.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pr\u00e9senter une synth\u00e8se de nos r\u00e9sultats aux d\u00e9cideurs politiques afin d\u2019am\u00e9liorer la protection des for\u00eats structurellement intactes d\u2019Afrique centrale. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Synergies avec la CBSI<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le projet CongoFor1.5 comprend la formation de huit \u00e9tudiant(e)s en master, deux au Cameroun, deux en R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo, deux au Gabon et deux en R\u00e9publique du Congo, dans le cadre de projets li\u00e9s aux parcelles r\u00e9inventori\u00e9es. Nous utiliserons les ressources de la CBSI pour faciliter une large diffusion des offres de bourses et le portail de candidature de la CBSI pour le recrutement des \u00e9tudiant(e)s, qui feront partie de la CBSI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CongoFor1.5 contribuera \u00e0 <a href=\"https:\/\/congobasinscience.net\/fr\/projets\/craft\/craft-observatoire-de-la-vegetation-des-sols-et-de-la-biogeochimie\/\">l\u2019Observatoire de la V\u00e9g\u00e9tation, des Sols et de la Biog\u00e9ochimie<\/a>, afin de compl\u00e9ter les efforts d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s dans le cadre du projet CRAFT-D\u00e9veloppement durable (Alliance de la for\u00eat tropicale congolaise pour la formation foresti\u00e8re pour le d\u00e9veloppement durable) sur les for\u00eats et les agrofor\u00eats exploit\u00e9es de mani\u00e8re s\u00e9lective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les jeux de donn\u00e9es et les
